Okay, how did I not know you were such an amazing writer?! Honestly, so beautifully, relatably written (which can be bloody difficult, I can tell you 🤣).
I would throw September into a similar bucket to August. It’s a trickster of a month, pretends to be autumnal but the last few years has been roasting at points so is essentially extended fake summer.
I’m with you all the way. Cannot wait for October and those slightly chilly mornings. I’m so glad you decided to take the 6 music early morning slot, you brighten my day.
A wonderful read again!! This is my first London summer - my Leo self is finally feeling like I belong in the right season, I’ve been doing August winters my entire life up until now and truly I’m meant to be celebrated in the summertime. The central line can die though
you can escape the cold in many ways, but you just cannot escape the heat. i’ve just come back from southern france and the only solution to surviving the weather is to tear your skin off to “cool down”. i was one cold s pellegrino bottle away from going into the ocean and just never coming back.
winters are bleak and gloomy but they don’t bring this much resentment. but i’m a februarian (also not a thing) so maybe that’s why subconsciously i find the cold to be easier.
As another August birthday, I also loathe my birthday month. When younger, I had a feeling of impending doom (and back to school related birthday presents. No,
Aunty, brown lace up shoes are not an acceptable gift for a 9 year old). Now, it’s the slog of the commute in the heat, sweaty nights and chafing. Autumn, I’m waiting
Hard relate. And sorry to top your traumatic summer, but enduring this heat whilst pregnant has been a whole other kind of hell. The kankles! The chaffing! Can’t even have a rose to soften the pain.
It's frustrating because we're meant to be outside soaking it all up for winter, enjoying the late sunsets al fresco while we still can, but instead we're hiding inside with the curtains drawn, exhausted from no sleep.

AGREED! I’ve always loved the Summer and hated the Winter. This is year I’m counting the days until September (it’s 25)

Agree, stationary for school is an unacceptable gift. Plus everyone is always away for our birthday parties.
This is brilliant. The sock twisted in the shoe 😂

Need to know more about the tree electrolyte man, my whole garden could do with it
Yeh he’s been twice now, he take a little soil, does some tests and then makes up a concoction ✨
Pleaaaaase never stop doing this. Such a joy to read
So ready for autumn. 🍂 But then I am so ready for each season as it comes around. I loved reading this. Thank you 😊
